MMATTRA Quality Standards While many Translation Agencies still adopt the translation procedure consisting of Translating - Editing - Proofreading (TEP), a Gutenberg Age procedure, in fact, MMATTRA was the pioneer office in the Arab World to adopt the new generation procedure built on Planning - Coordinating - Translating - Publishing (PCTP).
What happens practically when you order your translation from us? 1. Your source text lands on the office of an International Expert in Planning, Coordinating and Executing translation projects. He performs a preliminary assessment to define the following parameters: degree of complexity of your text; field of expertise; word count or page numbers; time requested to perform the translation. Building on those criteria, the Expert will send you in 24 hours (or less) a competitive quotation and a delivery schedule. Once the offer and the deadline accepted.. 2. The Expert (Translation Project Coordinator) nominates a single interlocutor responsible of your file all along the translation process; he is your Translation Project Manager. He also selects the team that works on your translation and that includes a translator, a reviser, a proofreader and a DTPist. The Expert will coordinate the workflow of the team members; 3. The Translator - whose mother-tongue is the target language - starts his job looking for the specific terminology that is standard in your field of knowledge; he creates a glossary and cooperates with the Expert, the Project Manager and the Reviser. The client may be consulted in some cases. After digging the terminology, the translator starts translating to the best of his knowledge, and once finished, he delivers the job to the Project Manager; 5. The PM sends both source and target texts to a reviser with a long experience in the translation industry. The latter checks the faithfulness of the translation to the original and assesses its readability. He corrects it whenever needed and makes sure the translation does not sound as an artificial translated text, but rather as a text written originally in the target language. The revised text goes to the PM. 6. The PM submits the text to a proofreader, a linguistic specialist of the target language that edits and proofreads its grammar, syntax, construction... He forwards it then to the PM. 7. In its final stage, the text goes to a Desk Top Publishing specialist that formats it according to the original: Word, Excel, Power Point, Illustrator, PDF... This is the copy delivered to you according to the scheduled timeframe. |
